Kitty Lab - Hello Kitty Gear from McDonalds Hong Kong

McDonalds in Hong Kong have a new promotion out for Hello Kitty fans. It’s a 35th Anniversary project called Kitty Lab and involves six little Hello Kitty soft toys to collect.

Hello-Kitty-Lab

They can be bought for HK$20 each with any food purchase or, as my girlfriend has done, the whole lot can be bought for HK$188. She got a free Hello Kitty bag which looks like her head, and some cards.

The six Hello Kitty characters are the Original, Baby, Strawberry, Devil, Pirate and Dr.Kitty.

There is a dedicated website at KittyLab.com but at this moment, it’s not live. Kitty fans, keep an eye out for it!

Incredible Hard Shaolin Skills Video

This National Geographic Shaolin Kung Fu video shows how incredibly hard the Shaolin guys are! A young XingDu is in it, who now can be seen in films such as Kung Fu Hustle, and more recently Ip Man.

My favourite bit happens to be when they use their “iron” bodies as a chopping board for vegetables…

Thanks to Soo Cole and David Tse.

Traditional Japanese Costume Parade at the Sanja Matsuri Festival

OneInchPunch visited Tokyo whilst the three day Sanja Matsuri Festival was taking place in Asakusa. The highlight was the first day which included a parade down the Nakamise-dori shopping arcade. It’s a small parade but is made up of lots of Japanese in traditional costume.

Innovative Fruit Textured Juice Drink Container Designs

Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa created these eye-catching juice containers.

The design imitates the texture, skin, and color of the fruit juices within the containers to create this clever and innovative packaging design.

The banana boxes have already made their way onto store shelves and we hope the others will too!

Japanese Bouncing Noodles Animatronic

We saw this bouncing noodles animatronic outside a ramen restaurant in Ueno, Tokyo, during our trip there last month. It’s simple, but quite cool we thought…

Trailer for Upcoming Fantasy Film Adaptation of The Last Airbender

The Last Airbender is perhaps a film to watch out for, influenced by Asian art, mythology, and various martial arts fighting styles, and adapted and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Out in July 2010, its a live action fantasy film adaptation of an Emmy-winning animated television series called Avatar: The Last Airbender. Here’s a trailer…

About The Last Airbender

In a world where the four elements can be controlled by people known as “Benders”, the Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war to control the other great nations. The only hope for stopping the brutal war led by the Firebenders rests on the shoulders of a reluctant young boy named Aang, the last known survivor of the peaceful Air Nomads, also known as Airbenders. Aang is also the world’s “Avatar” - the physical re-incarnation of the world itself, with the power to manipulate all four elements.

Japan Bear Does Kung Fu

Claude, the Asiatic Black bear who resides in Japan’s A-sa Zoological Park in Hiroshima, knows kung fu! Or maybe karate. Watch as he twirls this stick around quick-sharp.

Claude apparently spends hours twirling a stick and has been obsessed with them since he arrived at the Zoo six years ago.

The zoo has prepared 15 sticks for Claude to play with. It’s unknown whether the bear’s behaviour is dysfunctional but he nevertheless has attracted many visitors who want to see his kung-fu exercises.
