Fans of Gundam and other robotic toys may enjoy the stop motion efforts of John Huang who put together a clip containing over three minutes of action (four minutes including credits…). There are some inventive techniques but the feeling is lo-fi. Great inspiration to try your own.

Ever since visiting the TOTO showroom in Tokyo (hi-tech toilets recommended in our guide book!), we’ve been noticing the brand in practically all the toilets in East Asia. Well, it seems TOTO marketing knows no bounds resulting in a toilet robot action figure, created to promote their latest product.

Apparently, it’s capable of pre-programmed speech. We’ve wondering if that comes gurgle-accented..

Whilst OneInchPunch is currently based out of Hong Kong (normally in the UK), we’ve been scouring the toy scene and becoming intimately acquainted with the 1/6th scale figure format. There are plenty of shops in Mong Kok and a few in Sham Shui Po and Causeway Bay.

Cinemaquette Bruce Lee

One figure that’s on the shopping list is Bruce Lee (of course). We’ve yet to decide on the perfect purchase, as the one that’s most realistic, (which we consequently found online from the US) costs a cool US$1500. It’s from Cinemaquette, a figure we’ve previously posted about, but which currently lists as available to buy on their site. The Cinemaquette Bruce Lee looks pretty good and actually uses real human hair, but it’s just so pricey. Check it out on this link:

Enterbay Bruce Lee

If US$190 sounds more realistic, then a brand to keep your eyes on is Enterbay. They’ve produced a series of Bruce Lee figures in the past (based on his various films), which although are out of stock on their website, can be seen for sale on Ebay.

However, they’re currently selling a figure of Bruce Lee as Kato from The Green Hornet. Not good enough? Keep an eye on Enterbay as their blog shows forthcoming Bruce Lee statues in the works.

While we’re at it, we also came across these designer vinyls which are hand made by 2PetalRose and hand painted by One Sixth Bruce artist Sickboy:Custom. To date, the Game of Death figure looks like its still available to buy online – coming out of the UK at £69.50

As if there was nothing else worth collecting, since posting about the largest Pokémon collection in the world back in November 2008, we’ve just seen that the record has been broken by a British girl.

21-year-old Lisa Courtney from Hertfordshire has a 12,000 piece Pokémon memorabilia collection which landed her in the Guinness Book of World Records 2010 Gamer’s Edition.

It seems Muji and Lego recently joined forces to create some products which actually look pretty good, in a Muji sort of way. The products consist of a box of Lego pieces and sheets of paper which can be combined to create some cute models.

Shown on the Japanese Muji website, we can find no word on international availability, but hope it does come out in the US and UK soon…
