Nike, Kobe and Bruce Lee – Enter The Dragon Sneakers
Whilst we’re not ones to pick up anything and everything tagged with Bruce Lee, we felt it was our duty to announce these Nike basketball shoes for 2010. They’re themed according to the legendary Bruce Lee’s Game of Death.

Called the Kobe Bryant Zoom V (5), the inspiration may have been more Kareem Abdul-Jabbar than Kobe, but then, there are also three cuts on the right side of the shoe which come from Enter the Dragon. Go figure.

Muay Thai School Photos
As a hard-ass martial art, Muay Thai ranks up there with the most brutal, not least with its bone-crunching elbows and knee strikes. It’s Thailand’s national sport and harbours plenty of respect and tradition. Children are sometimes taught from a young age and these photos depict some of the brutal conditions that fighters endure.

First Chinese Driver in a Formula One Team
As the 2010 Formula One season begins its preparation, Renault announces its driving team, which happens to include the first ever Chinese driver to be named in a Formula One team line-up.

Seen above with his fellow drivers, the Dutch-born 27-year-old, Ho-Pin Tung, already the first Chinese national to drive a grand prix car, will be Renault’s official third (reserve) driver this season.
“This step will be the breakthrough I think in terms of media attention, of interest,” he said at the launch of the new Renault F1 car. “I will be the first Chinese guy ever who is officially part of a Formula One team and that’s going to be a big thing, I think.”
With the size of the Chinese population in the world, we think this was inevitable, though hope it helps to open the floodgates for more Chinese talent in other areas.

Japanese Fluorescent Tube Fights
We know and love some of the stuff that comes out of Japan but this one has us baffled. A sport where two guys beat each other with fluorescent tubes until one (we guess) concedes with perhaps too much blood loss?

It seems to have been around awhile and pretty popular in Japan, though may be a little underground with its violence, as we’ve not come across it before.

Reflective Chrome Ping Pong Table
“The Future Will Be Chrome” by Rirkrit Tiravanija is a Chrome Ping Pong Table with a super reflective surface. Not sure how it plays, but it looks good enough to eat from. If you can meet the $55k price tag, then you’ll have one of only ten such tables in the world.

Japanese Bra Doubles as Golf Putting Mat
You can’t beat the Japanese for *good* ideas..! Lingerie maker Triumph International Japan has unveiled a new concept bra designed to appeal to the hardcore female golfing enthusiast.

Called the “Nice Cup In Bra” the lingerie consists of a grass-green top that, when removed, conveniently unfurls into a 1.5-meter-long putting mat using both cups as holes.

The bottom half of the lingerie consists of a detachable pink skirt with the words “Be Quiet” printed in bold letters on the rear. When removed, the extra-short skirt can be used as a flag to encourage onlookers to remain silent.

According to the maker, the Nice Cup In Bra was created in response to the growing popularity of nude golf among females in Japan. (We’re afraid we’re lying about the nude bit).

Ping Pong Door Concept
I haven’t touched ping pong since college (over a decade ago..). It was very addictive, but just not practical to get a ping pong table myself. So I hope this ping pong door concept goes into production!

It’s easy to see how the idea works – the door seems to have interchangeable hinges to allow it to become a table. Narrower than a competition table, but likely to be fun nonetheless!
