Exchange a Hug for Coke

A new campaign for Coca Cola in Singapore drops a vending machine at the National University of Singapore which dispenses cans of coke in return for a hug. The power of love eh? If only something healthier was offered in return.

Cardboard Gundam Fail

Full marks for trying as these guys carefully show off their cardboard Gundam. Alas, the attempts to elevate the height (if not the size) with mini platforms is foiled by a slight raise of the flooring. Watch for an epic fail on a minor detail.

Singaporean White Boy

Check out Tyler Creasman on The Shan + Rozz Show. He’s a white boy who speaks Singlish, mixed with a little mandarin and of course, has an American accent as well!

Noticed by Susan – thanks!

Wanderlust Boutique Hotel in Singapore

Judging from these pics, the next time we visit Singapore, we want to stay in the Wanderlust Hotel. The nicely designed and frankly, fun interiors – whose eclectic designs do not sit out of place in Singapore are the results of work by three award-winning design agencies; Asylum, Phunk and fFurious, working in collaboration with DP Architects

Tiny Cardboard People Around Singapore

Singapore-based artist Anton Tang takes unused plastic figurines and repositions them in Lilliputian set-ups full of humor and pathos, thus reimagining what it means to be human.

We’re loving the charm in Anton’s photos, simple as the concept is. See more here…

Singapore’s Dim Sum Dollies

Thanks to the internet, you can never again say you’ve seen everything. The Dim Sum Dollies are a musical cabaret group who have have been around in Singapore since 2002.

Dim-Sum-Dollies3

They’re played by Selena Tan, Emma Yong and Pamela Oei. The Dollies are known for their loud and colourful costumes, spectacular dance scenes and their comical but incisive approach to contemporary social issues in Singapore.

Dim-Sum-Dollies2

The name Dim Sum Dollies was conceived because:

1. Being typically Singaporean, they love to eat.
2. Dim Sum always comes in threes.
3. Dim Sum is widely varied – just like how they are playing a wide variety of characters.

Check below for a bit of Dim Sum Dollies footage…
