Fork Toppings for Chopsticks

For anyone who has had difficulty using chopsticks, comes the fork “topping” which as you can see below, slips on top of one of the chopsticks.

An ingenious idea? Perhaps using it feels less like a cop-out than asking altogether for a knife and fork replacement..

Tukaani: Chopsticks Made Simple

Finnish designer Lincoln Kayiwa came up with the TUKAANI eating device, designed to ease consumption normally achieved with chopsticks.

Inspired by a Toucan’s beak, the dishwasher-safe and splinter-free stainless steel sticks are gripped similarly to traditional chopsticks, but are connected by a simple curl that allows for easy grabbing.

Durian Frozen Yogurt

Here’s an ingenious fire extinguisher device in the form of plastic silk flowers that you can magnetically stick to your fridge for quick use when necessary.

When placed over an oil or grease fire, the flowers work by melting into an ooze that smothers the flames.

Chinese Tea Eggs and How To Make Them

Chinese Tea Eggs. Embarassingly, I don’t know much about these, despite being Chinese. And my Italian in non-existant (the blog featuring these is in Italian.

However, from the gist of it, you can make these eggs from a bit of flavouring that includes tea. They look intriguingly old to me.

Edible but Gruesome, Realistic Body Parts Made of Bread

I saw these “bread artworks” if you can call it that a year ago or so. They’re made by Thai artist Kittiwat Unarrom who uses dough as his medium to sculpt gruesome renditions of hand, feet, heads, torsos and other body parts.

From looking at the photos, the results look really realistic with eyes, lips and other details constructed out of cashews, raisins and the like. A lack of hair and blood-like glazes make the work all the more creepy.  I’m not sure I could stomach actually eating one of these.

Sold at his family’s bakery in Ratchaburi, Thailand, he displays the parts wrapped like food in plastic and hung from meat hooks. Apparently, the art is in fact edible and tastes like regular bread.
