A Korean company has manufactured a transparent lifejacket dubbed the “Zak Nudevest” that ensures both buoyancy and exposure for the discerning naked consumer.

Not as good as the orange equivalent for distance visibility, but I guess there’s no substitute for getting that male (or female) life guard’s attention.
Available for around $15.

Protesters carrying an umbrella take part in an anti-government rally demanding the renegotiation of the US beef-import deal in front of Seoul’s city hall, on June 2, 2008.

South Korea will start quarantine inspections of US beef, which will lead to a full resumption of imports this week, for the first time since an outbreak of mad cow disease in the US in 2003.

Korean photo artist Yeondoo Jung takes children’s crayon drawings and recreates them in the real world.

Jung apparently spent four months in kindergartens in Seoul and collected 1,200 drawings from five to seven year olds. He chose eighteen works of art for the Wonderland project and brought them to life with the help of high school students and fashion designers.

A teenager from Basingstoke has become an overnight pop sensation in the Far East after posting a video of herself singing online.

Rebecca Strachan, 19, from Aster Road, Kempshott, Basingstoke, was catapulted to attention when she uploaded a video of her and a friend singing in Korean on the popular video-sharing website YouTube:

Since it went live in November, the video has received more than 130,000 hits and led to record executives offering the pair the chance to go to the South Korean capital Seoul for a series of gigs.

She said: “I can’t believe the amount of interest we’ve received in Korea and the whole thing seems like a dream. When I posted the video, I was totally unprepared for all the attention.”

Rebecca discovered Asian music in 2003 after searching for the soundtrack to her favourite computer game Final Fantasy.
