Capturing an escaped rhino, Japan-style
Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo has prepared for any houdini rhinos with their drill training for capturing them, using these two guys dressed up in a rhino suit!
The dramatic music adds to the “tension” as multiply attempts to prod the beast into submission fail, leading to the only possible solution - tranquilizer darts!

Insect Sushi
I thought scorpion snacks in Beijing were extreme enough, but here are sushi made with dead insects!
A couple in Japan that eat insects, make these sushi rolls. The rice looks like it lays down a final resting place for these insects (apart from your stomach, if you like).

Japanese Newspaper Bag
This is a Japanese newspaper (shinbun) that has been expertly folded and glued by hand in Towa Village by farmer’s wives.
Ecologically sound, it looks like a great idea to recycle your own mags and papers into reusable totes. Choose the right prints and you’ll get a looker.

Naked Sushi Model Confessions
New York writer Melanie Berliet gives being a naked sushi model a try and writes about her experience. The practice of eating sashimi or sushi from the body of a naked person is called Nyotaimori.

Nyotaimori is a well-accepted and practiced tradition in Japan. It is recognised as an art form and has been part of the Geisha culture dating back hundreds of years.

And if these get you up for Star Wars origami, check out how to make a (simpler) X-Wing fighter here.
