Chapel of Dawn, is designing a few pieces for Hello Kitty’s Black Wonder event happening on July 17th in Hong Kong.

So far the release includes a canvas tote bag, pen/cosmetic case, and two special t-shirts. All the products use Hello Kitty’s face as a foundation for design.

If you’re curious (course you are) about Miss Hong Kong, you can check out all the winners every year from the last 35 years on the Miss Hong Kong Gallery website.

As pointed about by the British Born Chinese blog, you can see some famous names in there such as Maggie Cheung (1983). I’m personally not too sure about some of the entrants, but then, who am I to judge beauty.

Cult notebook makes Moleskine have expanded their City Notebook range with the release of the Hong Kong and the Beijing versions - the first of many Asian City Notebooks to come.

As part of the festivities, SiLLY THING and sister-label Chapel of Dawn are stepping in for a special fashion related collaborative effort. Aside from knowing its a garment, details are few and far between.

If you like all manner of good quality and unique stationary, you might like Hong Kong based Patrick Ng’s blog.

Titled Scription, he writes “thoughts on stationary and beyond” and puts together blog posts with ideas, news and great photos of his stuff and what he creates, stationary-wise.

It probably helps that he works for stationary provider City’Super in Hong Kong, but then he does have a good sense of taste in his choice of leather, wood materials and traditional hand printing techniques.

Of course, there is also the Moleskine..

I’ve just come back from the opening reception of the Creative Hong Kong in London exhibition.

This event was hosted by the Design Museum as part of the “Lates” festival of after-hours art and culture in London and was attended by some of the featured designers from Hong Kong.

If you get a chance to drop by, its well worth a visit to dip into what’s going on across the different fields of design in Hong Kong. You have to be quick - its only on until 12th June, 2008…
