Hu Ming’s Female Cultural Revolution Soldiers

I should have looked deeper when I first came across Hu Ming’s artwork a few days ago. She has a website showcasing her fantastic artwork depicting lots of female soldiers going about army life, albeit a little more exotic than expected.

Hu Ming has a lengthy biography but it goes into detail and explains how she grew up during the Cultural Revolution and joined the army.

Her paintings express her worship of the female form depicting both physical strength and feminine beauty.
