Kashiwado chair brings a little Japan to your house

This is the Kashiwado Japanese cedar made chair that was originally meant for a sumo to rest his heels.

Kashiwado-Chair

Isamu Kenmochi, who designed the Kashiwado chair for a sumo wrestler of the yesteryears in 1961, made sure the chair looks not only strong and sturdy, but also exquisite and exotic.

The best wood from the cedar tree was selected to create this unique piece of art, for which ‘chair’ is an understatement. Like how the samurai polishes his sword to reach a near impossible sharpness, the chair has been polished and coated to an immaculate finish.

When you bring home a Kashiwado chair, you are not just bringing a piece of furniture home, but something soulful, something that is close to the Japanese heart and spirit.

It looks gorgeous – if its completely, solid, then it also looks very heavy and probably larger than life if meant for a sumo wrestler!
