Begin A Love Affair with a Virtual Handsome Man – in a Money Box

Bandai will release their Ikemenbank, or “handsome men banks” in Japan this September.

Now, assuming that proper and thorough market research is conducted before products like this are produced, there is apparently a market for a Tamagotchi-style virtual man in a money box, which – sorry – who, will help you save money.

Handsomebank

For each 500 yen coin you drop in the heart-shaped gadget, you’re rewarded with the next step of a virtual love affair with this guy.

He speaks to you with emotionally supportive phrases, but needs constant attention (almost a contradiction, surely!).

Not dropping a coin in for five days results in him leaving you, with nothing but a digital love letter to remind you of his pixels. Fill it up with 100 coins, however, and you get a romantic conclusion.

Out in Japan for around $46 in September.
