Hong Kong Picture Moment : Pillar of Shame painted orange

A student paints the sculpture “Pillar of Shame” orange during a demonstration by pressure group the Hong Kong Alliance.

Supporting the Patriotic Democratic Movement of China, the group expressed its human-rights concerns at the University of Hong Kong on April 30, 2008.

Pillar-Of-Shame

The sculpture, designed by Danish artist Jens Galschiot, was created to symbolise those who died in the government crackdown in Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989.
