Hundred year old ginseng sold for $250,000

I knew ginseng was expensive but a 100 year old wild ginseng was sold for 1.88 million yuan ($250,000) in an auction in Guangzhou, China, on November 6.

Ginseng is a precious herb widely used in Chinese and Korean medicine. However, can you still eat it after that long?!!?
Never mind the eating, if you thought that was old and expensive, check out this one below which is 300 years old and was sold for $400,000, back in August 2007!
