Tokyo Shopping Guide
If you’re in Japan and love making cute stuff, the blog Asking for Trouble has a cool section which acts as a Tokyo Shopping Guide.
Marceline, who runs the blog, makes Japan inspired handcrafted goods such as fabric purses, felt flower badges, vintage ribbon keyrings, washi covered notebooks and tote bags.
She lists places to get craft supplies and general kawaii (cute stuff) as well as full directions on how to get to the stores, and prices for the things on sale.

Origami Fantasy Art - Astonishing Work by Eric Joisel
Origami artist Eric Joisel has some astonishing pieces of paper art on his website, such as this group from The Lord of the Rings, Gimli, Aragorn and Legolas.

They’re folded from one uncut square of paper for each model and look like they’re molded out of stone!
“Origami often looks as if it’s “magic”. From the time I was a child, I have always been fascinated by the world of Tolkien and faeries. So as an adult dedicating my life to origami, you could suppose I continue act out as a child living in my fantasy world. “

Soldiers on Egg Cup
This egg cup design caught my eye and it took a split second to realise the significance of the soldiers. Brilliant - make mine mushy any day!
“Young designer Reiko Kaneko’s homewares offer a playful visual twist on familiar phrases or verbal puns with extraordinary results. Part of the furniture, egg soldiers – these curious everyday phrases take on new meanings when applied to her work.”
