World’s Tallest and Shortest Men Meet

You’d be forgiven for thinking that we’re obsessed with the world’s tallest man Bao Xishun, but he seems to be popping up everywhere at the moment. He’s intriguing to see online, so must be amazing to meet in real life! Well, it just so happens that here’s a meeting between him and the shortest man in the world.

Here’s Bao Xishun meeting He Pingping, who many believe to be the world’s shortest human. Even more amazingly, both men come from the exact same region of Inner Mongolia!

The Stats:

Mr Xishun:
Age: 56 years old
Height: 7.9 ft
He was of normal height until he reached 16 whereupon he experienced an unusual growth-spurt.

Mr. Pingping:
Age: 19 years old
Height: 2.4 ft
He was the size of a grown-up’s open palm at birth.

I do post these photos with a risk of presenting them as some kind of sideshow. And I ask myself whether these guys have achieved anything beyond accepting what nature has thrown at them. However, it seems that they do benefit from some kind of celebrity status, which I hope they use to create some positivity in the world. Either way, Mr Xishun has benefited - he’s been able to get a free, specially-made bed, so he can’t complain!
