A Child’s Eye View of Chinatown, San Francisco



National Geographic had a great idea which has great results. They recently handed out cameras to 15 kids in San Francisco’s Chinatown and set them loose to capture scenes of the neighborhood they knew.

Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer and National Geographic contributor Jay Dickman, who was part of the project and who tutored the teens, said, “I was impressed by how they stepped into the Asian community and were able to get images that would have been difficult had they not been Asian, the way they got under the fabric and into somebody’s life.”
