Avatars and their Creators : Online and Offline Photo Comparisons

The New York Times have an interesting slideshow showing photographic comparisons between avatars on various online game worlds and the players that create them.

Here’s actress Harisu from Seoul, South Korea and her avatar from Lineage.

Below is Ailin Graef, originally from China, and her Second Life avatar Anshe Chung. She is referred to as the “Rockefeller of Second Life” by a CNN journalist since she has built a comprehensive online business through the world.

In November 2006, Chung also announced that she had “become the first online personality to achieve a net worth exceeding one million US dollars from profits entirely earned inside a virtual world”.
