Teppanyaki : Japanese Gourmet Cabaret – an entertaining eating out experience

I hate the name of this place (”Ah-So“), but they do sound like an interesting and entertaining venue for a night out dining.

Ah-So1

This restaurant brings the Teppanyaki idea over from Japan, where the vibe here can only be described as gourmet cabaret. You take your seats around one big bar, in the middle of which the chefs don’t so much cook as perform. Watch with mouths agape as eggs, prawns and other ingredients are thrown in the air and knives, kept in tool belts slung around the chefs’ hips, fly.
