“The Legend of Bruce Lee” : 40-part series begins filming in China

China’s CCTV network has started producing a 40-part series on the life of Bruce Lee, to be shot in locales like Hong Kong and Lee’s ancestral South China province, Guangdong.

The Legend of Bruce Lee” will star Hong Kong actor Chen Guokun (pictured below, aka Chan Kwok-kwan / Danny Chan), who played a very Bruce Lee-esque goalkeeper in Stephen Chow’s “Shaolin Soccer.” The budget for the series is just $6.4 million.
