Chow Yun-Fat in John Woo’s Stranglehold game for PS3 and Xbox 360
Long time coming, but the game to feature Chow Yun-Fat is scheduled for a Summer release. John Woo’s Stranglehold takes places ten years after the events of Hard Boiled, the 1992 film in which Chow Yun-Fat plays his iconic Inspector Tequila role.
Chow Yun-Fat has lent both his voice and his likeness to the game, which should add a cult sense of immersion in what maybe just another action game. I guess at the end of the day, how good it is will just depend on how well it plays.

Mo Man Tai (no problem) : Dutch Stainless Steel laser cut products
Mo Man Tai is a Dutch company with a Chinese name, whose aim is to develop concepts which surprise, entertain and impress. They have a range of laser cut stainless steel products which you have to “crease” and fold from flat to complete them. This process apparently allows character to be added to these steel plates. To be honest, I’m not sure how much character can be added - the egg holder in particular is very simple, which is nice. However, we do applaud their use of stainless steel industry leftovers.

Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen’s new film “Flash Point”
Martial arts master and Hong Kong action movie veteran Donnie Yen has a new film forthcoming called “Flash Point“. It will be a Wilson Yip (drama direction) and Donnie Yen (action direction) collaboration, who both first worked together on the violent cops and triads film “SPL” two years ago.

“Flash Point” promises to be less dark (”There’s some hope at the end”, and unlike SPL, probably some survivors too) and hopes to bring mixed martial arts to the attention of Asia. Donnie portrays an agent who battles against three brothers of a powerful Vietnamese gang.
From the March 07 issue of Hong Kong’s Talkies magazine who interviewed Donnie Yen:
‘Yen has become a proponent of mixed martial arts, an interdisciplinary form of fighting utilising elements of jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, kickboxing and wrestling. “This will be the next trend in world martial arts,” he predicts excitedly. “I spotted it a couple of years ago and did the research and training - I shouldn’t be ding this to my body at my age, but I love it.” he laughs. Eyes gleaming, he urges interested parties to check out the Ultimate Fighter Championship (the official US body for mixed martial arts) website at www.ufc.com. “In a year or two it’s going to sweep Asia, like X Games did, and I want to be the first to put it in the cinema.’
