Innovative Hong Kong Director Wong Kar Wai’s new film “My Blueberry Nights” opens the 2007 Cannes Film Festival



One Inch Punch favourite, Wong Kai Wai, has a new film, his first English language film, called “My Blueberry Nights“. Written by both Wong Kai Wai and Lawrence Block, the film will feature a range of stars including Norah Jones, Jude Law, Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman.

“A young woman (Jones) takes a soul-searching journey across America to resolve her questions about love while encountering a series of offbeat characters along the way.”

My Blueberry Nights” is based on a short film about a shopkeeper who falls for someone crazy for blueberry pie, hence the title. The film opens the 2007 Cannes Film Festival on 16th May and will be released on 1st June.

Sidenote: The international competition jury for the festival includes multi award-winning Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung.
