Kazuko Hohki’s Borrowers show at Shunt Lounge, London Bridge

Kazuko Hohki (and friends) will be performing another (limited and intimate) run of her Borrowers project at Shunt lounge next week:

Musical Evidence for the Existence of Borrowers

Borrowers International Network (BIN) members, Kazuko Hohki, Mr Andy (Fine Young Cannibals), and Dr Millar present short demonstrations of some reconstructed Borrowers musical instruments.

Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th at 8pm, 9pm, & 10pm
Friday 13th at 7pm, 7.30pm & 8.30pm

Kazuko Spoon

If this is anything like a previous performance I experienced, then its unlike your typical passive theatre production. In a tight, almost claustrophobic stage (we were in the Battersea Arts Centre attic), Kazuko and her performers earnestly describe the lifestyles of the miniature Borrowers and recount their communications with Bob, one of their tiny representatives. To convey a slice of the mini culture, the main performance would consist of a live musical performance of simple, yet, ingeniously charming instruments made from everyday household objects.

  1. [...] Previously posted Kazuko Hohki will be presenting 3 very different performances in London in the next 2 weeks. Kazuko’s productions are highly recommended for her quirky style and pure entertainment factor. See below for more details on each event. [...]
