Plastique Monkey : Japanese artist, Yuka Yamaguchi’s art blog

Yuka Yamaguchi has a nice website which combines her art blog, with a gallery portfolio of her work and a shop to sell her art. She’s recently started telling people “I’m an artist. I’m self-taught. I make useless toys and art for adult children.”

Her subjects are an unusual and surreal take on life and worth having a click through. The blog is a welcome, frequently updated part of her site, as her personality shines through this.

Wow! Yamaguchi’s art definitely makes you thinK! Its very edgy! I am really interested to see more. I am just getting into modern japanese art… i had no idea how incredible it was! I am obviously a fan of the legends such as Yoshitaka Amano- whose new book Mateki the Magic Flute is INCREDIBLE by the way- but I am just now branching out- i will definitely try to see more Yamaguchi
