How to recognise Japanese fonts

Ping Mag has a great post on how to recognise Japanese fonts, which I’ve only just come across. It’s a nice little description of a few examples of different Japanese fonts, their characteristics and their typical use. A few good photographs of rustic packaging and Japanese type too.

One of their more recent posts has lots of examples of Sake bottle packaging design.
