Year of the Pig stamps from Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, Year of the Pig stamps are to be Issued today (4th February 2007).

Hongkong Year Of Pig Stamps

The stamp design for the four Year of the Pig stamps incorporates the traditional Chinese paper-cutting technique in the background to enhance the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year. In addition, a special stamp sheetlet with two stamps featuring the Dog and the Pig embossed and hot-foiled with genuine gold and 99.9% pure silver, will come with a certificate of authenticity.

As geeky the stamp collecting profession might be, there’s no denying a certain appeal that these highly portable, miniature works of art can be – sometimes beautiful, but certainly functional. These Year of the Pig stamps, together with their presentation packs make for a colourful addition to any collection or envelope.
