Beautiful, intricate, lasercut Li Xi Red Gift Envelopes

If you’re married (and Chinese) you probably dread the season of red envelopes, where you’re obliged to hand these out with money in them to all your single relatives. So if that’s not bad enough, why not spend some more money on these intricate, lasercut envelopes?

Lixi-1

Especially designed for 2007 – the Year of the Pig, the card was inspired by the ancient craft of papercuts, an original art form created in China.

Who knows – perhaps you might get away with less money in them if your relatives are impressed with the card? (Not likely!) Chinese New Year celebrations in the UK start on February 18th.

Li Xi Gift Envelopes start at $6.50 for one envelope
